Thomas Edison worked hard-day and night—enthusiastically, excitedly and
unceasingly. You have very likely heard what he once said: “Genius is 2%
inspiration and 98% perspiration.” He believed this to the roots of him and he
acted accordingly all the 84 years of his life. He was born in Milan, Ohio in 1847
and died in 1931. Strange as it seems, he did very poorly at school. When he was
seven, his teacher told his mother that the boy was so backward she simply could
not teach him!
