Damon Albarn is the frontman of Blur and the face of Britpop. While his peers have gradually fallen by the wayside, Albarn has survived Britpop to completely reinvent himself as the mastermind behind the global phenomenon that is Gorillaz. With his eclectic solo projects--such as the currently much-revered The Good, the Bad & the Queen--and his work with legends like soul music icon Bobby Womack, he has proven again and again that he is one of British music's most respected, innovative and important personalities. And in 2015, with the release of The Magic Whip, Blur's first album for more than a decade, Damon Albarn takes his place once more as an iconic jewel in the crown of the British music scene. This updated book, the only available dedicated biography of Albarn, covers his multiple musical personas in depth, with first-hand interviews by those close to Albarn in his formative years, as well as social and musical context that covers the Britpop era and Albarn's reemergence as the Godfather to the iPod generation.

Gorillaz are an English virtual band created in 1998 by musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett. The band consists of four animated members: 2-D (lead vocals, keyboards), Murdoc Niccals (bass guitar), Noodle (guitar, keyboards) and Russel Hobbs (drums and percussion). These members are fictional and are not personas of any "real life" musicians involved in the project. The band's 2001 debut album Gorillaz sold over seven million copies and earned them an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the Most Successful Virtual Band. It was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2001, but the nomination was later withdrawn at the band's request. Their second studio album Demon Days (2005) went six times platinum in the UK and double platinum in the US.

Inside the Mind of Jamie Hewlett 25 years of works, from Gorillaz to The Suggestionists From the legendary Tank Girl to live-action animations with Gorillaz, a Chinese contemporary opera to an exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery, artist Jamie Hewlett is one of the most energetic figures of contemporary pop culture. With influences ranging from hip hop to zombie slasher movies, Hewlett emerged in the mid-1990s as co-creator of the zeitgeist-defining Tank Girl comic. With then-roommate Damon Albarn, he went on to create the unique cartoon band Gorillaz, a virtual pop group of animated characters, who have recorded five albums and mounted breathtaking live spectacles. Since then, Hewlett has continued to collaborate with Albarn on projects including an elaborate staging of the Chinese novel Monkey: Journey to the West by Wu Cheng'en, complete with circus acrobats, Shaolin monks, and Chinese singers. In 2006, he was named "Designer of the Year" by the Design Museum in London, and in 2009, Hewlett and Albarn won a BAFTA for their animated Monkey sequence for the Beijing Olympic Games. More recently, The Suggestionists, an exhibition of prints at the Saatchi Gallery in London, demonstrated an exciting new direction in Hewlett's practice. This TASCHEN edition, Hewlett's first major monograph, illustrates his thrilling creative journey with more than 400 artworks from the Tank Girl era through Gorillaz and up to the present day. Through stories, characters, strips, and sketches, we trace Hewlett's exceptional capacity for invention and celebrate a polymath artist who refuses to rest on his laurels, or to be pigeonholed into a particular practice. "It's about reaching that moment of pure ecstasy when a drawing just happens- it's like being in a trance... Drawing is an escape from all the unnecessary things in life that get in the way of being free." -- Jamie Hewlett Text in English, French, and German

A steamy, full-length, standalone romance with a guaranteed HEA from Bestselling author J.H. Croix! If you like smoking hot romance with alpha men and strong women, you’ll love this series! Love Untamed is a sexy, charming and charged love story set against the wilderness and beauty of small-town Alaska. What happens when two people who are committed to staying single can’t keep their hands off of each other? Susie Hammond is a romantic at heart and a meddling matchmaker to her friends. She had a near tragedy that shattered her trust in men a few years ago. While she wants love for everyone, guarding her own heart is more important than finding love for herself. Susie is beautiful, strong, independent, brash, funny...and most definitely not interested in Jared Winters. Jared occupies the fantasies of many women in Diamond Creek and afar. He’s sexy, strong, enigmatic, and unattainable. His life is neat and tidy, organized down to the minute. Being a bachelor is simpler than dealing with the messy complications of a relationship. Susie is a hurricane force and a source of mischief and mayhem...most definitely not a temptation for Jared. Jared is just a tad too cool and collected for Susie. They drive each other crazy—in more ways than one. For years, the spark between them has been on slow burn. When it finally ignites, passion and emotions explode. One scorching hot kiss leads to another and another and then some. As long as they’re not talking, their relationship is phenomenal. Events force them to face themselves and each other. Can Susie find a way to trust again? Can Jared let go enough to show her he’s worth trusting? *All novels in this series are full-length standalone novels with an HEA.
